Invitation to Travel...Finally!!!
We got a call from our social worker this afternoon that Bethany (Grand Rapids, MI) received our travel invitations (TIs) from China today and they were sending them to us via 2-day UPS. Finally!!!! We should receive them by the end of this week and will be notified by Bethany when they receive our confirmed Consulate Appointment (CA) and travel dates -- hopefully next early week!
We were told to be prepared for a very short notice travel from the date we’re notified of the CA to when we need to leave for China (possibly less than a week from notification). They said this could be as early as the week of August 14!!! This is not confirmed, but it does give us some sort of projected departure time frame.
Bethany also said they anticipate families will be in Guangdong (receiving the children, processing the adoption & registration and the U.S. Consulate Appointment) for approximately two and a half weeks, which does not include Beijing.
We’re one step closer!! Come on CA and travel dates!! Leah’s birthday’s August 19th and we want to celebrate with her!!!
