We’re headed to China!

Well, I thought this day would never come; we finally received our U.S. consulate appointment and have our plane tickets to China. We’ll have Leah in our arms on August 21st! Thank God...we've been waiting so long for this day to come. Here’s a quick rundown of our scheduled trip:

August 16, 2006: Depart Washington DC and arrive in Beijing (we arrive on the 17th beacuse of the 12 hour time change).

** We’re leaving for China a few days early to do some sight seeing before we need to arrive in Guangzhou. We’re going to visit Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Great Wall. We’re also planning to see an acrobatic show, visit a cloisonné factory and take a hutong tour.

August 21, 2006: Depart Beijing and arrive in Guangzhou.

** We will united with Leah within hours of stepping off the plane!!!!! We can hardly wait!

August 22 and 23, 2006: Adoption registration and notarization.

August 24, 2006: We’ll receive Leah’s adoption registration certificate and begin the application for her U.S. passport.

August 25, 2006: Medical exam and visa photos.

** From the 26th to the 29th we’ll be waiting for the Leah’s passport to be completed. We’ll be spending all our time bonding with Leah!!!

August 30, 2006: Pick up Leah’s passport.

August 31, 2006: We have Leah's Visa appointment at the U.S. consulate.

September 1, 2006: Go to the consulate to take the oath and pick up Leah’s completed Visa.

September 2, 2006: Depart Guangzhou and arrive in Hong Kong.
** Unfortunately, we have to spend the night in Hong Kong.

September 3, 2006: Depart Hong Kong and arrive in Washington D.C. -- YEAH!!
